Victoria Ingalls

Victoria Ingalls

Victoria and her husband Tom reside in Independence, Mo. where Victoria has been hooking since 1976 and teaching since 1987. Teaching at rug schools all over the country, her work has been published numerous times in Rug Hooking Magazine, and RHM’s Celebration of Hand Hooked Rugs. Victoria's work is also included in one of Jesse Turbayne’s authoritative books.

Prior to rug hooking she specialized in portraiture: working in oil, watercolor and pastels.  Victoria credits her attention to detail in her designs to her background in fine art. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri. She also studied with internationally renowned portrait artist Frank Szasz.

Widely known for hooking sweet children’s faces, as well as her still life and folk art pieces, she also teaches tapestry hooking and wide cuts.

Her catalogue of designs is available for students, or she will work on the project of their choice. Custom designing is available on request.

Tom Ingalls

Victoria’s husband, Tom, is an artist in his own right. His distinctive rug hooks are custom-made to any size, shape and specifications desired.  He incorporates pieces of antique sterling silver, brass, mother-of-pearl, jewelry pieces, and different exotic woods into the design of his hooks.  Each hook is as unique as its owner.

Tom accompanies Victoria to all of her rug hooking schools and will be near her class, fashioning and selling his works of art.
